Yoga Classes January 2022
Two programmes will be delivered by Emma from Rock Yoga commencing Friday 28th January for 9 weekly sessions with a break for half term week. The sessions will take place in the Church of Ireland, Church Hall, Main St Castlerock. Equipment will be provided for the sessions or you can bring your own. Make sure you bring a cosy blanket.
Foundation Yoga 1.30pm-2.30pm
This class is suitable for the complete beginner or an experienced Yogi that is looking to get back to basics.
Restorative Yoga 3pm-4pm
Is a mellow practice of asanas in a passive, supported state seeking utmost comfort, postures are held for at least 5 minutes.
If you are interested in joining one of the classes please contact Carole at info@castlerockni.co.uk with your name, telephone number and address together with which class you would like to attend and we will get back to you. There will be a maximum of 12 per class and places will be awarded on a first come basis.
The sessions are free and Castlerock Community Association thanks the Public Health Agency, through the NICHI project managed by The Community Networks-Northern Area
As with all exercise, please check with your GP that you can take part-especially f you have recently had surgery or are living with a health condition.

We open our doors at 12 noon tomorrow, Sunday 13th June for what promises to be a very exciting time.All the tasting has been completed and we can’t wait for you to try the delicious menu and see you in person. Black Glen Access Pass Update
Black Glen Access Pass Update
We are making changes to how we manage visitor access to Downhill Demesne. From March to October we will no longer be charging an admission fee per person for access to Downhill Demesne.
Instead, Lion’s Gate will operate as an unmanned ‘Pay by Phone’ car park, with a £5 parking fee per vehicle all year round. National Trust members park for free.
Pedestrian access to Downhill Demesne from Castlerock to Bishop’s Gate, will be free for everyone. As a result, there is no longer a requirement for the Black Glen Access Pass which provided local residents with free access to Black Glen at these entrances.
As our local community, we ask for your support through these changes and help us to continue to care for Downhill for generations to enjoy.

- Your business has had to close due to restrictions placed by the Northern Ireland Executive
Then we may be able to assist you (if your main residence has a Castlerock postal address) with a £100 contribution towards your next order of home heating oil/gas or electricity

Halloween Photo Competition
HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES
CCA’s annual programme of activities has understandably been severely impacted by Covid19. We are pleased to say however the Halloween Picture Competition can still go ahead. Forms were sent out through the schools but they have to close now for 2 weeks if you do not have a form you can pick one up from the centre Wed- Sat 11-1pm. Please return all forms no later than Friday 23rd October. Please entre this competition, we will display all pictures in the window and there will be a small Halloween treat for the winners.

The draw continues to be the main fundraiser towards CCA’s running costs for which grants are becoming increasingly rare. We appreciate the awards we have received in the past and currently receive from CC&GBC. Balleyhackett seeks Integrated status
Ballyhacket Primary School Seeking To Secure Integrated Status
Ballyhacket Primary School which was established in 1870 is seeking to secure Integrated Status and is asking for support from the local community as part of the ongoing consultation process.
The Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education have a vision where all children are educated together and are confident to express their own identity and culture.

Community Visitor Centre to re-Open
GREAT NEWS!! The Castlerock Community and Visitor Centre will be reopening 3 days per week from Wednesday 8th July. Opening times will be Wednesday and Thursday from 10.30 to 12 Noon. Saturday 11a.m to 1p.m.
